Attorney General: 6,300 Homeowners Helped By National Mortgage Foreclosure Settlement
Attorney General George Jepsen today called the $25 billion mortgage foreclosure settlement with the nation’s five largest mortgage loan servicing companies a “tremendous success” for providing mortgage relief benefits of approximately $450 million to nearly 6,300 Connecticut borrowers.

Attorney General Jepsen Reaches Agreement with Penguin over eBook Price-fixing Allegations
Attorney General George Jepsen today announced that Penguin Group (USA) Inc. has entered into a settlement agreement to resolve claims asserted by Connecticut and 32 other states and territories in a lawsuit alleging price-fixing and collusion in the market for electronic books, or eBooks.

AG Jepsen and 39 Attorneys General Call on FDA to Regulate E-Cigarettes
Attorney General George Jepsen today joined with 39 attorneys general from other states and territories in urging the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to issue regulations by October 31, 2013, addressing the advertising, ingredients and sale to minors of electronic cigarettes, also known as e-cigarettes.

Attorney General Jepsen to PURA: Aquarion Proposed Rate Increase Excessive, Unwarranted
Attorney General George Jepsen has asked the state Public Utilities Regulatory Authority to reject an application from the Aquarion Water Company of Connecticut that would increase customer rates by $33 million over three years.

Attorney General, DMV and Insurance Department Warn about Telephone Scam on Insurance Quotes
Attorney General George Jepsen, the Department of Motor Vehicles and the Department of Insurance are warning Connecticut residents about a telephone scam that is misrepresenting the DMV as providing information for automobile insurance quotes.
