Gov. Malloy: For First Time Ever, New Haven Line Off-Peak and Weekend Trains to Begin Full Half-Hourly Service
Governor Dannel P. Malloy, joined by state Department of Transportation (ConnDOT) Commissioner James Redeker, New Haven Mayor Toni Harp, Connecticut Business and Industry Association (CBIA) Executive Vice President Joe Brennan and other state and local officials, today announced that off-peak weekday and weekend trains on the New Haven Line will begin running every half-hour between New Haven and New York City.

Gov. Malloy: Land Transfer Will Honor Sandy Hook Victim
Joined by lawmakers and the family of Catherine Violet Hubbard, Governor Dannel P. Malloy today handed over the deed for approximately 34.44 acres of land in Newtown to the Catherine Violet Hubbard Foundation, Inc. during a ceremonial bill signing of Special Act 14-13, which facilitates the transfer of the state-owned land for the creation of an animal sanctuary and wildlife preserve.

Gov. Malloy: New System Will Link Data from Multiple Sources to Help Prevent Violent Deaths

Malloy today announced that the Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) was awarded $925,000 over the next five years from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to gather critical data on homicide and suicide using the National Violent Death Reporting System (NVDRS).
