Gov. Malloy Announces State Grants to Improve Regional Efficiency and Help Municipalities Cut Costs
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that seven grants totaling $1.25 million are being awarded to regional planning councils and their municipalities under the state’s Regional Performance Incentive Program with the goal of improving regional efficiency and helping municipalities cut costs.

Gov. Malloy: State's Job Gains Show Progress; More Work To Do
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today released the following statement on the Department of Labor’s monthly Labor Situation Report. The report shows that job totals are at a recovery high, while unemployment among residents is at a recovery low. The state added more than 10,000 private sector jobs in September and the unemployment rate now stands at 6.4% - the lowest point since November 2008.

Gov. Malloy Statement on the National Transportation Safety Board’s Report Detailing Causes of Metro-North Incidents
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today received the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) report which provides information and identifies probable causes of five major Metro-North incidents over the past 18 months. Cited in the report are lapses in oversight and performance by the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), Metro-North Railroad and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA).

Gov. Malloy: State Will Support Efforts of Danbury Nonprofit Alliance to Establish Community Center for Residents of All Ages
Governor Dannel P. Malloy, joined by Mayor Mark Boughton and other state and local leaders, today announced that the state will invest nearly $3.8 million to advance the plans of the “Danbury Community Facility Collaboration” to establish a new community center that will serve the Greater Danbury area.

Gov. Malloy Announces Three New Train Stations as Part of NHHS Rail Program
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and the Connecticut Department of Transportation (ConnDOT) today announced the start of construction for new train stations in Wallingford, Meriden and Berlin as part of the New Haven-Hartford-Springfield (NHHS) Rail Program. Governor Malloy also unveiled the logo for the new commuter service, which will be branded the “Hartford Line,” and will be prominently displayed at all Hartford Line stations and in marketing materials.
