• 6/26/2018 Gov. Malloy: Hartford Line Ridership Tops 10,000 in First Full Week of Regular Operations

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy and the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) announced today that ridership on the new CTrail Hartford Line passenger rail service exceeded 10,719 customers during its first full week of regular operations from Monday, June 18 through Sunday, June 24, during which full-fare tickets were required. The service launched on Saturday, June 16, and was free for all riders on the first two days of operation.

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that six municipalities and organizations in Connecticut, including Ansonia, Naugatuck, New Milford, Thompson, the Naugatuck Valley Council of Governments, and the Bridgeport Economic Development Corporation, are being awarded a total of $1 million in state grants that will help the entities in their efforts to remediate and redevelop clusters of blighted properties – also known as “brownfields” – and put them back into productive use.

• 6/22/2018 Gov. Malloy Announces State Grants to Encourage Transit-Oriented Development and Responsible Growth Across Connecticut

  Governor Malloy today announced that five projects in towns and cities across Connecticut will receive approximately $8.5 million in funding under the second phase of the 2017 Responsible Growth and Transit Oriented Development Grants – a competitive grant program that supports transit-oriented development and responsible growth in the state and is targeted at boosting economic activity and creating jobs.

• 6/4/2018 Gov. Malloy: Military Personnel and Their Families Receive Free Admission to Over 50 Connecticut Museums This Summer

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that over 50 museums in Connecticut are offering free admission this summer to active duty members of the military and their families as part of the ninth annual Blue Star Museums Program. Available between Memorial Day and Labor Day, the program is an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in collaboration with Blue Star Families and the U.S. Department of Defense.

Klein today announced that $10.5 million is being awarded to 16 municipalities in Connecticut to provide infrastructure upgrades and improvements with the goal of combatting blight, improving neighborhoods, and increasing economic development.

• 6/17/2018 Gov. Malloy: Free Travel Weekend on Hartford Line Rail Service Attracts Over 10,300 Train Riders on First Day

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that over 10,300 people rode the CTrail Hartford Line during its opening day of service on Saturday, June 16. Travel on the new rail service is free for all customers on opening weekend and continues through Sunday, June 17. Because of the significant demand on opening day, additional service will be added on Sunday.

• 6/15/2018 Gov. Malloy Announces Launch of the Hartford Line, Providing Frequent Rail Service in the Central Connecticut Corridor

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today joined dozens of federal, state, and local officials, and Connecticut commuters to officially launch the CTrail Hartford Line for service. The passenger rail line, which has multiple stations in Central Connecticut along the I-91 corridor connecting New Haven, Hartford, and Springfield, is the first passenger rail line to open for service in Connecticut since 1990.

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy, along with Senator Richard Blumenthal, Congressman Joe Courtney, New London Mayor Michael Passero and Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) Commissioner Robert Klee today celebrated completion of a project that provides transient dockage for larger recreational vessels at Thamesport Marina in New London. The project, which used a $1.4 million grant from the Federal Boating Infrastructure Grant Program, is intended to encourage people to enjoy boating on the state’s waterways while stimulating tourism and economic development.

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Attorney General George Jepsen today announced that the State of Connecticut and the State of New York won their joint lawsuit in federal court against the Trump administration’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and its administrator, Scott Pruitt, over the agency’s failure to adequately control ozone pollution from other states that negatively impacts air quality in the two downwind states.
