  Governor Dannel P. Malloy will partially activate the state's Emergency Operations Center (EOC) at 3:30 PM today to monitor and manage any issues that may arise as a result of possible severe weather predicted to enter the state this afternoon.

• 7/3/2012 Gov. Malloy: Town of Canterbury Awarded $265k STEAP Grant

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the Town of Canterbury has been awarded a $265,000 Small Town Economic Assistance Program (STEAP) grant that will be used towards capital improvement projects at Dr. Helen Baldwin Middle School and Manship Park.

  On Monday afternoon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will visit the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts to give a warm send-off to the Real Ambassadors at one of their final rehearsals before heading to London to perform at the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.

• 7/26/2012 Thursday: Gov. Malloy to Commemorate State's New Natural Disaster & Storm Response Laws

  On Thursday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will hold a bill signing ceremony in West Hartford to commemorate the passage of Public Act 12-148, a new package of laws he introduced that enhances the ability of the state, municipalities and utility companies to better prepare for and respond to natural disasters and intense weather situations.

  On Wednesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will hold a ceremony to commemorate the passage of Public Act 12-70, the legislation he introduced that will allow the state to make long overdue investments in infrastructure while lowering costs and improving the quality of construction projects.

• 7/27/2012 Gov. Malloy: New Distribution Center in Windsor will Create 200 Jobs

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that Dollar Tree, Inc., which recently acquired a site in Windsor, will build a one-million-square-foot, $104 million distribution center and hire a minimum of 200 people within the next five years.

• 7/11/2012 Gov. Malloy: HealthBridge Tactics are "Unacceptable", Will Join Workers Today on the Picket Line

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman will join workers who recently began a strike against HealthBridge, a New Jersey based healthcare company. To date, hundreds of caregivers at 5 nursing homes across the state are taking part in the strike to protest what the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has deemed "unfair labor practices."
