Thursday: Gov. Malloy to Meet with Secretary LaHood, Conference Call with Reporters to Follow
Governor Dannel P. Malloy will meet tomorrow morning with Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood to discuss Connecticut’s application for a piece of the $2.4 billion in high-speed rail funding released last week. Governor Malloy previously met with Deputy Transportation Secretary John Porcari about this and other transportation issues important to the state.

Thursday: Governor Malloy Addresses Northwest Chamber, Takes Business Tour of Technical Industries in Torrington
On Thursday afternoon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will be the keynote speaker at the Northwest Connecticut Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting in Torrington, where he will speak about his efforts to improve the business climate in Connecticut and get our state’s fiscal house in order to help create new jobs and keep the ones we have. This will be the eighth Chamber of Commerce in the state that the Governor has formally addressed in the last six weeks. Following that, Governor Malloy will take a business tour of Technical Industries, Inc. in Torrington.

Thursday: Governor Malloy Speaks at CEO Roundtable Event in Darien, Addresses Greater Norwalk Chamber
On Thursday evening, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will speak at the CEO Roundtable Networking Event in Darien. The CEO Roundtable is a group of Connecticut-based CEOs, business owners and leaders who meet regularly to network and discuss issues of importance to their businesses. Later Thursday evening, Governor Malloy will address the Greater Norwalk Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner in Norwalk, where he will speak about his efforts to improve the business climate in Connecticut and get our state’s fiscal house in order to help create new jobs and keep the ones we have.

Updated Information: Locations for Several Upcoming Gov. Malloy Town Hall Meetings Moved to New Venues
Governor Dannel P. Malloy’s office today announced that the locations for seven previously scheduled Town Hall Meetings in Stamford, New Haven, Greenwich, Manchester, Windham, Norwalk and Danbury have been moved to larger venues to accommodate an increased number of participants.

Wednesday: Governor Malloy Takes Business Tour of FuelCell Energy in Torrington, Attends No Kid Hungry Campaign Launch in Middletown, Holds Town Hall in New Haven
On Wednesday afternoon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will take a business tour of the FuelCell Energy manufacturing facility in Torrington. The tour of the company’s facility will give the Governor an opportunity to meet with the management team and staff at the Connecticut-based business, which manufactures Ultra-Clean stationary fuel cell power plants that generate electricity with up to twice the efficiency of conventional fossil fuel plants and virtually no air pollution.

Gov. Malloy Activates Emergency Operations Center Tonight at 11 p.m.
After a conference call with Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security (DEMHS) staff and key commissioners, Governor Dannel P. Malloy ordered the state's Emergency Operations Center within the State Armory to be opened at 11 p.m. this evening.

Gov. Malloy Announces Appointment of Joseph Perkins as Deputy Commissioner of Veterans Affairs
Governor Dannel P. Malloy announced today that Joseph T. Perkins of Niantic has been appointed to be the Deputy Commissioner of Veterans Affairs. Most recently, Perkins worked as the Manager of Security Services at Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford. He is a 22-year veteran of the Connecticut State Police Department and was a member of both the United States Marine Corps, during which time he served in Vietnam in 1965-1966, and the Connecticut Army National Guard.

Gov. Malloy Appoints Fairfield First Selectman Ken Flatto as Executive Director of Division of Special Revenue
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that he has appointed Fairfield First Selectman Kenneth Flatto as Executive Director of the Division of Special Revenue. The Division of Special Revenue is responsible for managing various special revenues and for regulating legalized gaming in the State of Connecticut, including the Lottery and Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun.
