Gov. Malloy: Severe Cold Weather to Impact the State
With bitter cold temperatures expected to impact the state over the next week, Governor Dannel P. Malloy has activated the state’s Severe Cold Weather Protocol, directing the Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security (DEMHS), the Department of Social Services (DSS), the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS), and the Department of Housing (DOH) to coordinate with 2-1-1 and Connecticut’s network of shelters to ensure that the state’s most vulnerable people are protected from the severe cold weather.

Gov. Malloy: "Go Back to Get Ahead" Program Will Increase College Completion Rates
In a drive to give “lapsed” college students the opportunity to get their college education back on track, and to develop a better educated workforce and more competitive state economy, Governor Dannel P. Malloy announced that the Board of Regents for Higher Education today launched the Go Back to Get Ahead program, offering in-state residents who have started, but not completed a degree, free college courses when they re-enroll.

Gov. Malloy: Headquarters of the Largest Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in the Country Relocating to Connecticut
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) has finalized a deal that will bring the headquarters of the country’s largest intercollegiate athletic conference, the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), from Massachusetts to Danbury, Connecticut.
