Gov. Malloy: State Will Accept Assault Weapon and Large Capacity Magazine Applications Submitted but Not Received by Deadline
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection (DESPP) will accept and process the applications to register assault weapons and large capacity magazines that are believed to have been submitted to the state agency by the statutory deadline but were not received by that date.

Gov. Malloy: State Flags to be Lowered in Honor of Rep. Elaine O-Brien
Governor Dannel P. Malloy directed Connecticut flags to half-staff in honor of State Rep. Elaine O’Brien, who passed away overnight. She was elected to the General Assembly in 2010 to serve the 61st District, which includes Suffield, East Granby and Windsor.

Gov. Malloy Signs Fracking Waste Moratorium Into Law
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today joined state officials, lawmakers and environmental advocates for a ceremony at Farm River State Park in East Haven to commemorate the passage of a new state law that enacts a three-year moratorium on the handling of waste from hydraulic fracturing in Connecticut while its environmental impact is further researched.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy this afternoon directed U.S. and state flags to be lowered to half-staff in honor of the Connecticut National Guard member who died in a motor vehicle accident earlier today while on a routine transport of training material.

Gov. Malloy: Thanks to the State’s Comprehensive Energy Strategy, New Natural Gas Pipeline in Wilton Will Save Money for Residents
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today joined officials from the Town of Wilton and representatives of Yankee Gas at a ceremony to launch the start of a large-scale natural gas expansion project in the town that is estimated to save taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars per year in energy costs for schools and other government buildings, in addition to being available for private residential and business use.
