Gov. Malloy Selects Scott Jackson as Under Secretary for Intergovernmental Policy

Malloy today announced that he is selecting Hamden Mayor Scott Jackson to serve as the state's Under Secretary for Intergovernmental Policy, a position that will be responsible for the streamlining the delivery of targeted state investments into urban communities and regions in order to maximize their output and extend those improvements across surrounding areas.

Gov. Malloy Announces Enhanced Upgrades to Department of Transportation’s Winter Maintenance Fleet
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) Commissioner James Redeker today announced that - with the winter season steadily approaching - the state is making preparations with 114 new plow trucks, supplies, and support equipment to supplement the transportation agency's snow and ice fighting fleet.

Gov. Malloy Signs Executive Order Regarding Discrimination and State-Funded Travel
In response to developments in Indiana, Governor Dannel P. Malloy today signed an executive order that bans state-funded travel to states that have enacted legislation to protect religious freedom but do not prohibit discrimination for classes of citizens.

Gov. Malloy: State Offers Advice to Homeowners During this Season's Snow Thaw

Malloy today said that with winter weather appearing to finally loosen its grip on Connecticut and warmer temperatures steadily approaching, homeowners should caution themselves and keep an eye on indoor leaking as the deep snow pack on roofs and surrounding building foundations begins to melt.

Monday: Gov. Malloy Makes Second Chance Society Announcement in Hartford
On Monday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will make an announcement about a Second Chance Society initiative regarding youth crime prevention, as well as hold a roundtable discussion on the topic. He will be joined in the discussion by Hartford Mayor Pedro Segarra, state Department of Education Acting Commissioner Dr. Dianna Wentzell, Hartford Superintendent Dr. Beth Schiavino-Narvaez, state Child Advocate Sarah Eagan, and other state and local officials.

Gov. Malloy: Program that Effectively Disrupts School-to-Prison Pipeline Should be Expanded
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today visited the Sarah J. Rawson School in Hartford to highlight the school's success in disrupting the pathway to the juvenile justice system through Connecticut's School-Based Diversion Initiative (SBDI). Expansion of the SBDI program into the six school districts with the highest arrest rates for school offenses is part of Governor Malloy's Second Chance Society legislative package
