Gov. Malloy Applauds Bipartisan House Passage of Bill in Support of UTC Agreement

Malloy today hailed the Connecticut House of Representatives’ bipartisan passage of a bill that supports an agreement the Governor reached last month with United Technologies Corporation (UTC) under which the company will invest up to $500 million to upgrade and expand its aerospace research and development and manufacturing facilities over the next five years.

Gov. Malloy: Lesson From Super Storm Sandy Connecticut’s Transportation Infrastructure Needs ‘Hardening’
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the State of Connecticut is applying for $600 million in federal transportation funding to help cover the capital costs of three resiliency, or “hardening”, projects central to the commuter rail infrastructure of Connecticut. The federal funds will be matched with $200 million in state funds for various upgrade and replacement projects along the New Haven Line.

Gov. Malloy Announces Agreement to Help Protect Connecticut's Working Farms
Governor Dannel P. Malloy, Connecticut Department of Agriculture Commissioner Steven K. Reviczky, and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) State Conservationist Lisa Coverdale today announced an agreement that will allow Connecticut to utilize more than $8 million in federal funds to keep farmland in agricultural production.
