Gov. Malloy: The Mark Twain House Unveiled as Connecticut's Favorite "Still Revolutionary" Destination
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that The Mark Twain House has been voted residents' and visitors' Fan-Favorite Still Revolutionary destination. As a result, The Mark Twain House will be showcased in Connecticut's tourism marketing efforts via a digital ad spot and a short documentary video that will run online and on the state's social media channels this fall.

Gov. Malloy: Thomson Reuters Establishes Connecticut's First Captive Insurance Company
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that international media and information company Thomson Reuters has relocated its U.S. insurance subsidiary from Delaware to Connecticut. The subsidiary, Thomson Reuters Risk Management Inc. (TRRMI), is the state's first captive insurance company, taking advantage of key changes in the Governor's sweeping jobs reform legislation of 2011.

Sunday: Gov. Malloy & Congressman Murphy Hold News Conference to Call for Drought Relief for Farmers
On Sunday at 11:00 a.m., Governor Dannel P. Malloy, Congressman Chris Murphy and Department of Agriculture Commissioner Steven Reviczky will hold a news conference at Tulmeadow Farm in West Simsbury to urge Congress to act on drought relief legislation. Connecticut farmers are being negatively impacted by the nationwide drought that is causing a shortage of feed for livestock, which could raise the price of groceries in the near future.

Gov. Malloy: Education Reform Delivers More Resources for Early Grade Literacy
Governor Dannel P. Malloy, together with Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman and Commissioner of Education Stefan Pryor, today announced that five elementary schools have been selected to pilot an intensive new reading intervention program for students in kindergarten through grade three. The K-3 Literacy Initiative was created as part of comprehensive education reform bill approved earlier this year with bipartisan support in the legislature and signed into law by the Governor.

Malloy, joined by legislators and state higher education officials today at Norwalk Community College for a ceremonial bill signing, said that a new state law will add extra support for college students who need help in their regular courses and ensure that graduating high school seniors are better prepared for the rigors of higher education.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman today announced that the Connecticut Health Insurance Exchange has been awarded a $107 million Federal Level-Two Establishment Grant from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
