Tuesday: Gov. Malloy Attends Waterside School Ceremony, Announces Launch of Stamford Innovation Center
On Tuesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will attend a ceremony celebrating the opening of the new location of Waterside School in Stamford. The private school, founded in 2001 to provide high-quality education to low-income students, serves over 100 students and is moving into its new facility, which has been financed completely through charitable contributions.

Tuesday: Gov. Malloy Keynotes Municipal Bond Summit
On Tuesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will give the keynote address at the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association’s (SIFMA) Municipal Bond Summit in New York City. The summit will be attended by those in the municipal securities industry, including broker-dealers, regional dealers, issuers, municipal advisors, letter of credit banks, portfolio managers, institutional investors, rating agencies, credit analysts, and internal and outside counsel.

Dept. of Labor Release New Report; Construction Jobs Are Increasing in North Central CT
Contrary to popular belief, the construction industry is poised to heat up in North Central Connecticut, adding as many as 30,000 projected jobs in the next five years. These jobs have the highest concentration in the areas of Hartford, East Hartford, New Britain, Bristol, Canton and Simsbury.

Austin, and Democratic and Republican legislative leaders will join executives from Jackson Laboratory to make a major announcement regarding a collaboration in bioscience in the state.

Gov. Malloy Appoints Members of S.T.O.R.M. Irene Panel
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today appointed members to the State Team Organized for the Review of Management of Irene (S.T.O.R.M. Irene) assessment team. The team, which is comprised of a group of people with diverse professional backgrounds in the military, disaster relief, municipal government, non-profit and labor sectors, will review the performance of the state and its partners – including the utilities and municipalities – in terms of the preparedness and response and recovery efforts related to Tropical Storm Irene.

Gov. Malloy: Construction Begins on Criminal Justice Information System
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the state has signed a contract with Affiliated Computer Services, Inc. (ACS), a Xerox company, to build the state’s new Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS), a tool to help criminal justice professionals enhance public safety.
