Governor Dannel P. Malloy urged residents to be safe during the July 4th weekend. With the recent attacks that occurred in Turkey earlier this week, the state, the Connecticut Intelligence Center, and its partners at the local, state and federal levels are continuing to monitor domestic and international information. Should residents witness any suspicious behavior, they should report it.

Gov. Malloy: Local Health Districts Receive Grants Over the Next Three Years to Combat Opioid-Related Overdoses
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) Commissioner Dr. Raul Pino today announced that six local health departments/districts (LHDs) will each receive $30,000 during each of the next three years to further expand efforts combating the opioid epidemic. The funding is being distributed as part of a federal grant the state received from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to tackle opioid-related overdoses

Gov. Malloy Statement on Analysis Showing State Saved Nearly $33 Million in Overtime During Fiscal Year 2016
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today released the following statement regarding a report released from the state legislature's nonpartisan Office of Fiscal Analysis, showing that state agencies saved nearly $33 million in overtime cost during Fiscal Year 2016, which ended on June 30, 2016. This amounts to a 13.9 percent drop when compared to the previous fiscal year, as indicated in a letter sent from Office of Policy and Management Secretary Ben Barnes to the Governor this afternoon.

Gov. Malloy: Number of People in Jail for Drug Possession has Reduced 39 Percent Over the Year
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that, following the adoption of his Second Chance Society bill last year, the number of people incarcerated in Connecticut jails for drug possession has been reduced by 39 percent.
