Malloy today announced that - in accordance with a proclamation from President Barack Obama directing flags to be lowered to half-staff in honor of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia - U.S. and state flags in Connecticut will fly at half-staff beginning immediately until sunset on the day of interment.

Gov. Malloy Introduces Legislation to Adopt and Modernize Parking Signs for People with Disabilities
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that he has introduced legislation designed to modernize the signage that designates reserved parking spaces for people with disabilities. The updated symbol and language, being called for by advocates internationally, is more reflective of the diverse community of those who utilize the accessible parking spaces.

Gov. Malloy Proposes Legislation Increasing Access to Overdose Reversal Drugs
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that in order to continue the state's efforts to combat opioid overdoses, he has filed legislation aimed at increasing access to the overdose reversing drug naloxone for both first responders and citizens who want to purchase the medication.

Gov. Malloy Renews Calls to Constitutionally Protect Transportation Funds
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today joined a group of transportation advocates and state and local officials at the site of the train station located in downtown Meriden, where he renewed his calls to adopt a constitutional amendment to protect revenue that goes into the Special Transportation Fund. That amendment would ensure that once funds become a dedicated investment by going into the fund, that they can never be removed.

Gov. Malloy Launches Second Chance 2.0 to Continue Crime Reduction Efforts
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that he is introducing a series of legislative proposals that build upon his "Second Chance Society" reforms that were adopted last year, which are designed to continue reducing the state's decreasing crime rate, as well as ensure nonviolent offenders are successfully reintegrated into society. The reforms would make Connecticut a national leader on criminal justice reforms.

Gov. Malloy: Connecticut Sending Crews to Assist with Snow Clean-Up in DC and Maryland
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is sending crews and equipment to Washington, DC and Maryland to assist with snow removal and clean-up from last weekend's historic snowfalls. The crews - comprised of about 30 workers in all - will leave Connecticut tonight at midnight and be on the job Wednesday morning.

Gov. Malloy Announces State's Use of Lean Tools Makes Government More Responsive and Efficient
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that over forty state agencies have become more cost-effective and efficient in the past year thanks to a program he initiated in 2013. The program, LeanCT, has improved service delivery and saved taxpayers money. The changes are detailed in the 2015 report to OPM Secretary Ben Barnes by LeanCT Program Director Alison Fisher.

Gov. Malloy Announces American Airlines to Launch Daily Service Between Bradley International Airport and Los Angeles International Airport
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and the Connecticut Airport Authority (CAA) today announced that American Airlines will soon debut new daily, nonstop service between Bradley International Airport (BDL) and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
