Governor Dannel P. Malloy signed on to a joint letter calling on House Speaker John Boehner and Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi to support common sense and comprehensive immigration reform legislation. Such legislation passed the U.S. Senate with strong bipartisan support on June 27, 2013.

Gov. Malloy: Bond Commission Approves Millions to Restore Roadways and Bridges, Modernize State Transportation Network and Create Thousands of Jobs
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the State Bond Commission on Friday approved more than $537 million in state funds to finance a series of construction and maintenance projects through the Connecticut Department of Transportation’s (ConnDOT) capital infrastructure program, including 250 lane miles of state highway resurfacing and more than 40 bridge restoration projects around the state.

Gov. Malloy: Q-Bridge Project to Increase Capacity and Reduce Congestion on I-95 Between New Haven and Branford is Ahead of Schedule
Governor Dannel P. Malloy, joined by U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro, Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman and Connecticut Department of Transportation (ConnDOT) Commissioner James P. Redeker, today toured the I-95 New Haven Harbor Crossing (NHHC) Corridor Improvement Program following a major traffic shift, completed over the weekend, of all southbound travel onto the temporary lanes of the new Pearl Harbor Memorial (Q) Bridge. The I-95 southbound traffic shift marks the completion of Stage 2B construction of NHHC and the start of Stage 3 construction - two months ahead of the original schedule.

Gov. Malloy Announces $10 Million Technology Grant for Schools
Governor Dannel P. Malloy, together with State Department of Education Commissioner Stefan Pryor, today announced the release of a $10 million competitive technology grant for Connecticut school districts to bring more computers into classrooms and to increase Internet bandwidth capacity. This grant will provide critical assistance to local districts as they prepare for the statewide rollout during the 2014-15 school year of Common Core State Standards and the computer-based Smarter Balanced Assessments.

Gov. Malloy Announces Fraunhofer Center for Energy Innovation at UConn
Governor Dannel P. Malloy, joined by German Consul General to the U.S. Rolf Schütte, Fraunhofer USA Inc. President Georg Rosenfeld, UConn President Susan Herbst, and Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Commissioner Daniel C. Esty, today announced a partnership between Connecticut and Fraunhofer USA that will establish the Fraunhofer Center for Energy Innovation (CEI) at UConn. The Center will focus on critical issues of energy production, storage, and distribution.

Gov. Malloy: Flooding Continues to be a Concern in Eastern Connecticut
With some areas already receiving over four inches of rain and more forecasted for tomorrow, Governor Malloy is cautioning residents in eastern Connecticut to be alert to continuing flooding conditions, especially urban and flash flooding.

Gov. Malloy: FSC CT, Inc. Relocated Financial Firm to Greenwich
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced $5 million in loans and grants to FSC CT, Inc. to relocate Fifth Street’s operations to Greenwich. The company, through its Fifth Street affiliates, will bring approximately 50 jobs from its present location in White Plains, New York, and plans to add at least 46 more jobs as it grows over the coming decade.
