Gov. Malloy's Monday Schedule
Governor Dannel P. Malloy will hold a morning media availability at 8:30 a.m. at the EOC before travelling to Boston on Monday afternoon to discuss higher education and workforce development issues at the “New England Works” conference at the Boston Federal Reserve Bank. In addition, Gov. Malloy will hold a 6 p.m. media briefing to discuss power restoration and other storm recovery issues. Following the briefing, Gov. Malloy will speak at an event sponsored by the UConn School of Business, where he will discuss the role of financial services in our state’s economic future.

Gov. Malloy in Afghanistan
Roy Occhiogrosso, Gov. Malloy’s Senior Advisor, today announced that Governor Malloy is visiting troops in Afghanistan. He is scheduled to speak with a pool of Connecticut reporters shortly. Pool information can be found below.

Gov. Malloy's Sunday Schedule
On Sunday, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will give the oath of office at the inauguration ceremony of Hamden Mayor Scott D. Jackson. Mayor Jackson was re-elected to a second term in office during the November 8 municipal elections.

Gov. Malloy's Thursday Schedule
On Thursday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will give opening remarks at the Connecticut Association of Nonprofits annual conference in Cromwell, where he will speak about his efforts to protect the safety net and engage the nonprofit community in a concerted, strategic way to maximize the services people need and minimize the cost as he continues his efforts to get the state’s fiscal house in order.

Gov. Malloy's Tuesday Schedule
On Tuesday afternoon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will join the Connecticut Association for Human Services and other state and elected officials at a recognition ceremony to acknowledge the importance of the state’s recently enacted earned income tax credit and the impact it will have on recipients.

Gov. Malloy's Two Storm Panel to Meet Friday
The working group Governor Dannel P. Malloy created to review the preparedness, response and recovery efforts of Tropical Storm Irene and the October Nor’easter will next meet on Friday, November 18, during which they will discuss a range of topics, including urban forestry issues, shelter for those with special needs, public health concerns, and the efforts of first responders. In addition, several labor leaders representing utility workers will also address the panel.

Lt. Gov. Wyman: President Obama Approves Request for Major Disaster Declaration
Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman announced tonight that President Barack Obama has approved Governor Dannel P. Malloy's November 11, 2011 request for a Major Disaster Declaration, enabling state and local governments and certain non-profits to apply for federal funding in the aftermath of October's historic storm.

At 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday morning, Governor Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman will give welcoming remarks at the first meeting of the state Labor Management Committee. Immediately following the Governor’s remarks, he will hold a media availability outside of his office at 10:30 a.m. to discuss the committee and his goals for what it can accomplish.

On Wednesday, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will hold two news briefings from the State Emergency Operations Center in Hartford to provide residents and media with the latest updates on snowstorm recovery efforts. The briefings will take place at 8:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
