Gov. Malloy Hails Final Passage of Bill Establishing CT CARE
Governor Dannel P. Malloy thanked the Connecticut State Senate for giving final approval today to legislation he introduced earlier this year that will create the Connecticut Coordinated Assistance and Recovery Endowment, also known as CT CARE - a foundation that will accept charitable donations in the immediate aftermath of an emergency and disseminate them as quickly as possible in accordance with the donors' intent.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy today signed Senate Bill 1138, An Act Concerning Connecticut’s Clean Energy Goals. The bill modernizes the state’s Renewable Portfolio Standards, which currently call for 20 percent renewable power by 2020.

Gov. Malloy Names Dr. Myra Jones-Taylor as Executive Director of State's New Office of Early Childhood
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that he is appointing Dr. Myra Jones-Taylor of New Haven to serve as Executive Director of the state's new Office of Early Childhood (OEC), which Governor Malloy proposed earlier this year and signed an executive order on Monday to establish.

Gov. Malloy Signs Minimum Wage Increase Into Law
Governor Dannel P. Malloy on Thursday morning signed legislation that increases the minimum wage in two stages over the next two years. Under the new law, it will increase from $8.25 to $8.70 on January 1, 2014, followed by a second increase on January 1, 2015 to $9.00.

Gov. Malloy: State Commitment to Affordable Housing Most Significant in Decades

Gov. Malloy: Wallingford's Z-Medica Growth Will Create Jobs, Expand Clinical Research
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced a $1.7 million loan to assist Wallingford medical device manufacturer Z-Medica buy new equipment in support of the company's current expansion plans. Z-Medica makes and distributes sterile traumatic wound products that rapidly stop high volume blood loss.
