Gov. Malloy Announces Resiliency Fund to Help Shoreline Residents Prepare for Future Severe Weather and Flooding
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced the creation of the Connecticut Shoreline Resiliency Fund, a low-interest loan program for state residents who are subject to coastal flooding and would like to elevate their homes and flood-proof their businesses.

Gov. Malloy Announces Schedule for New Round of Nation's First Statewide Microgrid Program
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced the schedule for a second round of Connecticut’s microgrid program. The program was launched following recent storms to develop innovative ways to keep critical buildings (police stations, emergency operation centers, shelters, etc.) and commercial centers powered during electric grid outages.

Gov. Malloy: Feds Should Pay for All Unemployment Benefit Costs Resulting from Shutdown
Governor Dannel P. Malloy released the following statement calling on Congress to pass a resolution that includes compensation for the cost of unemployment benefits to furloughed workers, as well as for the costs incurred by the state Department of Labor for administering Unemployment Insurance program.

Gov. Malloy Appoints David Guay to Serve as Executive Director of the State Contracting Standards Board
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that he is appointing David Guay of South Windsor to serve as Executive Director of the State Contracting Standards Board (SCSB). He will begin serving in the role on October 18.

Tuesday: Gov. Malloy Signs Bill on Nursing Home Patients’ Rights
On Tuesday at noon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will hold a bill signing ceremony in East Hartford for legislation (Public Act 13-70) that requires nursing home administrators to ensure that all nursing home staff receive in-service training, which must include a discussion on patients’ rights to file complaints and voice grievances, and ways to prevent and alleviate patients’ fear of retaliation.
