Lt. Gov. Wyman: Demand For Health Insurance Rose, 2018 Open Enrollment Stronger Than Previous Years
Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman and Access Health CT (AHCT) CEO Jim Wadleigh today provided the results of the Connecticut healthcare exchange’s fifth open enrollment period, which ran from November 1 to December 22, 2017. During this open enrollment cycle, 114,134 residents signed up for private health insurance coverage, reflecting a 2.3 percent increase compared to enrollment figures last year.

Malloy today announced that the State of Connecticut is participating in an innovative, new cybersecurity training partnership with the SANS Institute that will increase access to young women in high school with the opportunity to explore their interests in cyber studies and learn basic cybersecurity skills in an effort to inspire the next generation of cybersecurity professionals while identifying talented youth.

Gov. Malloy Appoints Vicki Veltri To Lead State's Office Of Health Strategy
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that he is appointing Victoria Veltri of Colchester to serve as Executive Director of the state’s Office of Health Strategy, a new state office created through the consolidation of several existing resources as part of the bipartisan state budget that was adopted in October. The office, which begins operations on February 1, will be responsible for implementing data-driven strategies that promote equal access to healthcare, improve the value of healthcare, contain costs, and ensure better healthcare systems for Connecticut residents.
