Wednesday: Gov. Malloy Visits Alliance District Schools in Meriden and Ansonia, Hosts Community Forum in Naugatuck
On Wednesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will visit John C. Prendergast School in Ansonia, followed by a visit to the Women and Families Center in Meriden, for roundtable conversations with administrators and teachers on the progress their respective education programs have achieved since their school districts were approved by the state last year as Alliance Districts.

Gov. Malloy: Connecticut Awarded $2.8 Million in Federal Transit Administration Relief Funds for Hurricane Sandy
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Connecticut Department of Transportation (DOT) Commissioner James Redeker announced today that the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) has approved Connecticut's request for $2.8 million in relief funds to offset the costs of Hurricane Sandy preparation and response efforts.

Gov. Malloy: $9.6 Million for Step Up Incentives will Create Jobs for More than 1,000 Unemployed Veterans and Jobseekers
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the Bond Commission has approved $9.6 million for the continuation of the state's Subsidized Training & Employment Program (STEP UP), which provides small businesses and manufacturers two types of hiring incentives – a scaled, six month Small Business Wage Subsidy Program and a Small Manufacturer Training Grant Program that provides up to $12,500 over a six-month period.

Gov. Malloy Announces Real Estate Acquisitions in Hartford, Saving the State Over $200 Million in Leases and Renovations
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the State of Connecticut will be acquiring two office buildings within the downtown Hartford area in a move that will save the state over $200 million over the next twenty years by decreasing the state's reliance on leased offices and avoiding costly renovations to existing property.

Gov. Malloy: Economic Development Initiatives Help Small Businesses Create Jobs in Connecticut
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) Commissioner Catherine Smith today visited four small businesses in Manchester, Meriden, New Haven, and Stamford that are participating in the state's Small Business Express Program (EXP). The program, administered by DECD, offers grants and matching loans to Connecticut companies with 100 or fewer employees.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman today announced that they will host a community forum in New Britain on Thursday, March 14, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at New Britain High School's Anthony Tercyak Lecture Hall on 110 Mill Street.
