On Thursday at noon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman will welcome home approximately 160 Connecticut National Guard soldiers of the 1048th Transportation Company of Stratford, who will be returning from Afghanistan.

Gov. Malloy Formally Ends Civil Preparedness Emergencies from Hurricane Sandy and February Blizzard
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today signed Executive Order No. 33, which formally ends the state of civil preparedness emergencies declared by the Governor on October 27, 2012 and February 8, 2013. The order also rescinds the previously issued executive orders related to the storms.

Gov. Malloy: Edith Prague to Head Department on Aging
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today tapped former State Senator Edith Prague of Columbia to serve as the Commissioner of the newly-formed State Department on Aging (SDA). SDA will ensure that Connecticut's elderly population has access to the supportive services necessary to live with dignity, security, and independence, and is responsible for administering a variety of federally-funded programs under the Older American's Act.
