Thursday: Governor Malloy at Milford Chamber Meeting, Business Tour of Schick, Greater Manchester Chamber Meeting, CT Air National Guard Ceremony, American Institute Graduation
On Thursday at 8:30 a.m., Governor Dannel P. Malloy will be the keynote speaker at a Milford Chamber of Commerce meeting at the Schick Corporation headquarters in Milford. The Governor has been visiting Chambers of Commerce across the state over the past few months, where he has spoken about his efforts to improve the business climate in Connecticut and get our state’s fiscal house in order to help create new jobs and keep the ones we have.

Monday: Governor Malloy Makes Announcement on Proposed Busway, Participates in Rio Movie News Conference, Holds Town Hall in Norwalk
On Monday afternoon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will hold a news conference to announce his decision regarding the proposed New Britain-to-Hartford Busway. The Governor recently held a meeting at the Capitol with both advocates and opponents of the Busway to hear their thoughts on the topic.

After Listening to Connecticut’s Citizens at Town Hall Meetings, Gov. Malloy Revises Tax Package, Reinstates Property Tax Credit to $300
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today reflected on his first 100 days in office and the 17 Town Hall Meetings he held across the state. Governor Malloy began those meetings on February 21 in Bridgeport and finished on April 12 in Middletown. Taking into account the concerns raised, Governor Malloy today announced that he would reinstate the property tax credit to $300. In addition, his revised tax package lessens the burden on the vast majority of the middle class.

Federal Transit Administration Release: FTA Administrator Rogoff Announces $6.3 Million for New Britain-Hartford Busway Project
Progress continues on the New Britain-Hartford Busway project thanks to a $6.3 million Federal Transit Administration (FTA) formula grant announced today by FTA Administrator Peter Rogoff. The grant will provide dollars for engineering services and property acquisition.

On Tuesday, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will continue his Jobs Tour with stops to two tourism destinations in Mystic. The tourism industry is one of the top five producers of jobs in the State of Connecticut.

Larson, Malloy, Healthcare Leaders Celebrate 45th Anniversary of Medicare
Congressman John B. Larson (CT-01) Governor Dannel Malloy, and representatives from the healthcare industry celebrated the 45th anniversary of the country’s first Medicare payment Friday morning. Due to voting in Washington, Congressman Larson participated in the discussion with a taped message while the Governor and healthcare leaders celebrated at Hartford Hospital.

Gov. Malloy Urges People to Take Precautions as Dangerous Heat and Humidity Roll into Connecticut
With an excessive heat watch issued for most of the state for the next three days and the heat index possibly reaching as high as 110 degrees, Governor Dannel P. Malloy is asking people to take precautions and to call 2-1-1 if they need information on cooling centers in their town or city.

Gov. Malloy, Sen. Cassano Say Electric Bills to Decrease
Today, on what may prove to be the hottest day of the year, Senator Steve Cassano (D-Manchester) and Governor Dannel P. Malloy held a press conference at the Manchester Senior Center to announce a 5% bill reduction for all Connecticut Light & Power electric customers. They also outlined additional ways in which energy reform passed this year will help to reduce electric bills going forward, and lower air conditioning costs.
