Wednesday: Governor Malloy Speaks at Realtors Meeting, Attends Electric Vehicle Charging Station Event, Visits CT Invention Convention, Addresses Home Builders Meeting, Gives Remarks at Opening of CT
On Wednesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will speak at the annual meeting of the Connecticut Association of Realtors in Hartford. Also on Wednesday morning, Governor Malloy will join The Hartford’s CEO Liam McGee to unveil new electric vehicle charging stations at The Hartford’s headquarters and participate in a ceremonial first charge of an electric vehicle. The Hartford is one of the first companies in the Hartford area to provide charging stations for its employees.

On Friday afternoon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will join regional, national, and international leaders at the Regional Plan Association 2011 Annual Regional Assembly in New York City, where he will give a keynote speech concerning his goals for the future of Connecticut’s infrastructure, sustainability, and competitiveness.

Governor Malloy, State Commissioners Conduct Hurricane Preparedness Drill
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today conducted a hurricane preparedness drill at the state Emergency Operations Center with key state agency commissioners and state agency personnel to test Connecticut’s readiness and response in the event of a major hurricane this season.

Gov. Malloy Announces $40 Million for High Speed Rail Funds Released to Connecticut

Gov. Malloy: Bond Commission Agenda Will Include $2.5 Million for Remediation of Land Next to Kaman Aerospace in Bloomfield
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that next week’s Bond Commission Agenda will include $2.5 million for the remediation of an 85-acre site adjacent to Kaman Aerospace Corp. in Bloomfield that was acquired from the U.S. Navy.

Gov. Malloy: Bond Commission Approves Funding for Development of Renaissance Place in Naugatuck
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the State Bond Commission on Friday approved a grant of $500,000 to assist with architectural and engineering design services for a parking garage at the Renaissance Place development project in Naugatuck.

Gov. Malloy on Decision to Grant Mariano Cardoso a Stay of Removal
Governor Dannel P. Malloy released the following statement after learning that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has granted Mariano Cardoso a temporary stay of removal. Last week, Governor Malloy wrote to immigration officials to request that they defer a deportation order for Cardoso, who is nearing completion of his engineering degree at Capital Community College in Hartford.

Malloy Administration, Chairman Willis Announce Higher Ed Consolidation Agreement
Mark Ojakian, Deputy Secretary of the Office of Policy and Management and Higher Education Chairman Roberta B. Willis announced an agreement concerning Governor Dannel P. Malloy’s proposal to consolidate the state’s community colleges, the Connecticut State University system and Charter Oak College to flatten administration and direct more money to students and classroom instruction. The deal had been in the works since last week, and details were finalized last night.

Governor Malloy Announces Connecticut Awarded $33 Million to Help Unemployed Homeowners Facing Threat of Foreclosure
Connecticut Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that Connecticut will receive $33 million in aid from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) through the Emergency Homeowners' Loan Program to assist homeowners facing foreclosure. Applications for this program are now being accepted by the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority (CHFA). Saturday: Governor Malloy Attends East Coast Greenway Trail Council and Board Meeting in Simsbury
On Saturday, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will be a guest speaker during the afternoon session of the East Coast Greenway Trail Council and Board meeting in Simsbury. Governor Malloy has been a proponent of the Greenway since he was Mayor of Stamford, advocating for the completion of Connecticut’s 196-mile portion of the 3,000-mile trail, which when complete will extend the length of the East Coast from Canada to Florida.
