Malloy today joined Witt Associates Vice President Charles Fisher to discuss his firm’s report on how Connecticut’s public utility companies and the state handled power restoration following the October Nor’easter. The report, which was completed on an expedited timeline, details a number of key findings and recommendations that will allow the utility companies to be better prepared for weathering the next storm.

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that his administration is investigating multiple incidents of possible fraud against the state by individuals, including state employees, who received federal benefits from the Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP) after Tropical Storm Irene. The Governor also directed Department of Social Services (DSS) Commissioner Roderick L. Bremby to complete a systematic audit of irregularities in the applications for the emergency aid.

The Governor will speak about his efforts to improve the business climate in Connecticut and get our state’s fiscal house in order to help create new jobs and keep the ones we have.

  Governor Dannel P. Malloy will attend the Hartford Business Journal’s e-Marketing & Technology Summit on Friday between 8:00-8:30 a.m., during which he will present the Strateg-e Awards, recognizing local companies that take advantage of the latest technology to grow their businesses.   Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced his nomination of Judge Lubbie Harper, Jr. to be an associate justice of the Connecticut Supreme Court. Judge Harper, when confirmed by the General Assembly, would take the place of Justice Joette Katz, who was selected as Governor Malloy’s Commissioner of the Department of Children and Families.
