Attorney General William Tong today applauded a decision from the Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, affirming the U.S. Department of Energy's obligation to publish its finalized energy efficiency standards. The decision affirms a previous order by the district court.

ATTORNEY GENERAL TONG URGES FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO ENSURE EQUAL ACCESS TO SHELTERS, REGARDLESS OF GENDER IDENTITY
Attorney General William Tong, as part of a multistate group of 16 attorneys general, urged the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to rescind its proposal that would prevent transgender and gender nonconforming individuals from having equal access to safe homeless shelters.

CONNECTICUT JOINS MULTISTATE CHALLENGE TO TRUMP ADMINISTRATION ROLLBACK OF ENDANGERED SPECIES ACT REGULATIONS
Attorney General William Tong announced Connecticut has joined with 16 other states, the District of Colombia and the City of New York to challenge the Trump Administration's rollback of the regulations implementing the Endangered Species Act.

Attorney General William Tong today joined a 26-member coalition from around the country — including 15 states, the District of Columbia, three counties, six cities, and the U.S. Conference of Mayors — in opposing the State of Alabama’s attempt to advance a discriminatory agenda and tilt the power within Congress and the Electoral College by refusing to count every individual in the 2020 decennial census.

ATTORNEY GENERAL TONG, 44-STATE COALITION MOVE TO UNSEAL GENERIC DRUG PRICE FIXING COMPLAINT
(Hartford, CT) – Connecticut Attorney General William Tong and 43 other state attorneys general moved today to unseal their complaint against Teva Pharmaceuticals and 19 of the nation's largest generic drug manufacturers. The complaint, filed on May 10 in U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut, alleges a broad conspiracy to artificially inflate and manipulate prices, reduce competition and unreasonably restrain trade for more than 100 different drugs.

ATTORNEY GENERAL TONG JOINS EFFORT TO DEFEND REFUGEES AGAINST UNLAWFUL EXECUTIVE ORDER
Attorney General William Tong joined a coalition of 12 attorneys general, led by California, Illinois, and Maryland, in an amicus brief seeking to block President Trump’s unlawful executive order on refugee resettlement and the U.S. Department of State’s recent attempt to implement that order’s consent requirement. The executive order seeks to upend the existing refugee resettlement process by requiring resettlement agencies to obtain written consent from state and local authorities before being able to place refugees in their jurisdictions.
